英譯：愛德華·卡斯沃。生於英國漢普郡，畢業於牛津大學布雷齊諾斯學院，早期曾任英國國教的司祭，後受到紐曼樞機（John Henry Newman）等人的影響，他在1847年改信羅馬天主教。隨後加入伯明罕的聖腓力·內利會（Oratorians），成為一名天主教神父，並在當地度過餘生。
